wagonI make stuff and teach other folks how to make stuff- sometimes little stuff, sometimes big stuff. Metal stuff, fiber stuff, ceramic stuff, digital stuff...

I live in "flyover country", but spent a nomadic life until my mid-30's. My father was in the army so it came naturally. I wanted to be an "artist" when I was 5 because I thought I'd get to wear a beret and skinny black pants like Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face". Sometimes I wanted to be an astronaut or a physicist, sometimes an archaeologist, a chemist, a writer, a historian, ultimately I get to do many of those things by being an artist.

meIn school, they kept telling me to focus, that my work and my studies were too scattered. By the time I got to grad school, I figured out that all that meandering through media was exactly right for the way I want to work.
